to a good master they will love them and be loyal and do whatever they can for them without a second thought. in many ways I see the battle sylphs like over protective dogs. but I couldn't help it, it kind of made me want this book to hurry up and be done. the villian was probably one of the worst I've ever read about and I've read several evil villains. and honestly the reason i rated it low is probably one of the things the author did almost too well. It took me a while to read this book and it wasn't that it was bad i think it was just that I'd read so many of this series in a row i needed a break. I highly recommend this book, but honestly, you need to read the first two books first to really understand what is happening. It makes a person really think about interactions with people. How to act with compassion and consideration and to use the strengths of others without dominating them and/or turning them into slaves. The story explores what it means to be human. This book was frustrating to read but it was a great read. Entitled and demanding and petulant and blaming everyone else for his own lack of. Justin is like many people that I'm sure we all know. Heyou and Solie have found a viable answer to their inability to propagate, we get to see Leon and Lizzy settling into home life with Ril. My heart has ached for him since the first book. I'm so glad they got a Healer who can help Ril.

Sometimes it looks almost normal, and that is the chilling reality with which we all must deal. Many things happen in this book that are a lot like life. Poor thing, she is dumb and normally you wouldn't think that being dumb could be so devastating to so many people, but we see that it can be. Gabralina is almost TSTL (too stupid to live). I was unsure until the very end which way it was going to go. This last book, Queen of the Sylphs, it was not easy to read. Basically the first two books are love stories with this unique twist that McDonald has that just enthralled me. Love that the women are strong and play such an integral part even though they have to make some attitude adjustments to most of the men. I read the first two and was charmed by the uniqueness of the world created by L.
